thought pictures

I have owned a book of some of Rudolf Steiner's drawings. He usually sketched on blackboards when he gave lectures. His followers put black paper on the blackboards so his drawings would not be lost. Here is a brief article about Steiner's drawings. It mentions that Steiner believed color was very significant in understanding the cosmos, and in thought pictures. His drawings were thought pictures, communication outside of language. Communication in images.

I've known about Steiner's blackboard illustrations that accompanied his many, many lectures for 25 years.  It is only today that I see a connection between Steiner's work and the, now, common practice of 'graphic faclitation', when people with drawing skills capture conversations in visual images quickly done as the conversation unfolds.

Steiner is so cool.  "Was" so cool? He's still cool, imo.
